Eligibility Criteria

- A (i) A Master’s degree from an Indian institution in a relevant or related topic with 55% of the possible points (or an equivalent grade in a point system, if the grading system is used), or an equivalent degree from a recognised overseas university. ii) In addition to meeting the aforementioned requirements, the candidate must have passed the CSIR or UGC-conducted National Eligibility Test (NET), or a test comparable to it that has been approved by the UGC, such as SLET/SET, or have been awarded a Ph.D. in compliance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016, and any updates thereto, as the case may be exempt from NET/SLET/SET; OR
- B. The Ph.D degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following: (i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) the Times Higher Education (THE) or (iii) the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).
