The Socio-Legal Review of Marginalized Sections (SLRMS) is a biannual, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to fostering dialogue on the socio-legal challenges faced by marginalized communities. We are committed to amplifying underrepresented voices and producing high-quality, thought-provoking content across disciplines.
Role Overview
SLRMS is seeking to hire two interns for the roles of Blog & Editorial Intern and Social Media Intern. These positions offer an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in legal research, writing, publishing, and digital content strategy while contributing to the journal’s academic and public outreach efforts
Blog and Editorial Intern
Responsibilities
- Proofread and write articles for the journal’s blog.
- Collaborate with the Senior Blog Analyst to address content quality, necessary revisions, and editorial improvements.
- Research and write opinion pieces and analytical articles on socio-legal issues.
- Ensure that all blog content meets the academic standards of SLRMS.
- Work closely with contributors to refine and enhance articles before publication.
- Coordinate with researchers and writers to facilitate timely content submission.
Eligibility Criteria
- Preferably a student of law, political science, sociology, development studies, or related fields, with a strong interest in socio-legal research.
- Strong ability to write well-researched, structured, and engaging content.
- Capable of analyzing legal issues, policies, and judgments affecting marginalized communities.
- Excellent command of grammar and clear, precise writing skills.
- Commitment to meeting editorial deadlines and completing assigned tasks under guidance.
- Prior experience in legal writing, blogging, or journal publications is an asset but not mandatory.
Social Media Intern
Responsibilities
As a Social Media Intern, you will be responsible for enhancing the journal’s digital presence by creating and managing engaging content across multiple platforms. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Designing visually appealing posts, infographics, and stories using Canva, Photoshop, or Illustrator.
- Writing captions, and descriptions for journal publications, calls for papers, and socio-legal issues.
- Scheduling and managing a content calendar for consistent posting on Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook.
- Increasing journal’s social media engagement.
- Extracting key insights from journal articles and presenting them as micro posts, quote illustrations, and video summaries.
Requirements
- Students of any discipline with a keen interest in digital media and communications.
- Individuals passionate about digital content creation, media strategy, and socio-legal discourse, eager to contribute to meaningful discussions.
- Candidates with a foundational understanding of social media analytics, audience engagement strategies, and platform-specific best practices.

Duration
The minimum duration of the internship is one month. A certificate of acknowledgment will be provided upon successful completion.
