Submissions for the first edition of the NLUD Journal on LABOUR, which is published by the Centre for Labour Law Research and Advocacy at National Law University, Delhi, are being accepted right now.
This edition’s theme is “Sociology of Labour,” and academics, researchers, practitioners, and activists are all welcome to submit multidisciplinary pieces to the journal. Submissions must be made by November 30, 2024, and they must be unique and follow the guidelines provided. Contact jol@nludelhi.ac.in or go to the journal’s submission site for further information.

Theme
This annual thematic journal, whose first edition was centered around the theme “Sociology of Labor,” seeks to offer a forum for multidisciplinary articles on labor-related themes. A few identified subtopics that are not exclusive to this subject are as follows:
- Nature of work, work relationship, and occupational style
- Various sectors within the informal/formal sector and its political economy
- Labor and Development discourse on work
- Feminist Analysis of Labour, Migration, and Development
- Intersectional analysis of Labour confluence
- Marginalized labor categories and historical injustices
- Structure of Labour Law and Its Influence on Labouring Lives
- Just transition debates on labor
- New industries, new cities, and new labor
- Urban development and labor
Formatting Guidelines
- The manuscript’s body should be formatted in Times New Roman, size 12, with 1.5 line spacing.
- Times New Roman, font size 10, single line spacing, and footnotes are required.
- There must always be a single line between each paragraph and each heading.
- An inch must be indented at the start of each paragraph.
- There should be references and footnotes in the manuscript.
Submission Categories
- Word count for Special Articles: 8000–10,000
- Special articles in the current issue’s theme area should advance theoretical or empirical knowledge.
- It is anticipated that contributors would delve thoroughly into the journal’s central issue and present fresh and thought-provoking viewpoints.
- Articles that are brief: 5000–8000 words
- To guarantee the importance and influence of their work, authors are urged to select topics that are still relevant today. While empirical research is greatly appreciated, theoretical works that offer fresh perspectives or refute preconceived notions are also welcomed.
- Perspectives/Insights: 3500–4500 words
- Under this section, brief theoretical debates based on current events or prospective solutions to any labor-related impasse in particular fields are encouraged. Articles based on actual problems that are rarely discussed in the literature are welcome in this section.
- Case Notes/Book Reviews: 2500
Submission Guidelines
- All submissions (with the exception of book reviews) must include a 300-word abstract and five key words.
- Footnotes are included in all word counts.
- The APA Citation style must be followed for citations and references.

- Deadline for Submissions: November 30, 2024
- Acceptance Notification: February 15, 2025

Submission Procedure
A cover letter with the author’s name, affiliation, submission title, email address, and phone number, as well as a statement of originality, must be sent with every submission. Under the direction of the Editor-in-Chief, the Editorial Board will examine and edit the submissions.
