The PURCL Student Law Journal is an outstanding effort of the University Institute of Laws, PURC, Ludhiana. It is a peer-reviewed and refereed journal. The biannual Student Law Journal, which is published in January and July, offers law students a great opportunity to work closely with other students to understand the subtleties of modern legal pedagogy and to critically interact with current legal concerns. Writing, editing, and citation-checking skills are improved by the experience.
Special Edition: Focus of Special Issues
This special issue is devoted to a variety of Centre and State legislation and regulations that control many aspects of the environment, including the air, water, land development, pesticides, hazardous waste, and the cleanup of contaminated sites (including lakes). This special issue’s primary focus is on the latest concepts and advancements in the following fields:
- Environment Law and Policy
- Environment Disaster and Law
- International Environment Law and Policy
- National/Indian Environment Protection Mechanism
- Climate Change and Environment Degradation
- Environment Constitutionalism
- Eco-feminism
- Environment and Indian Philosophy
The aforementioned sub-themes are not all-inclusive; they are only indicative. Every submission to the magazine is carefully vetted and chosen based on the work’s originality, calibre, and importance. The Journal prioritises student research papers on contemporary challenges in the field, guaranteeing the field’s prominence and priority in the fields of science, law, and society. Please take note that if there are duplicate research projects, the editorial board has the authority to choose the most innovative, pertinent, and in-depth paper.
Who may Submit
Students and research scholars from all law schools are encouraged to submit.
Theme
Submissions of tributes, articles, case notes, and critical analyses of any of the previously suggested themes are welcome from students.The articles and papers’ main topic will be environment law.
The Journal will be of great use to scholars, professionals in the field, researchers, academics, and students who want to stay up to date on new legal advances and who are interested in learning about the latest theoretical and practical advancements in the field of Law and Environment.
Submission Guidelines
- Authors are asked to email purcl.slj@gmail.com with their original, unpublished submission in.doc format.
- The application must be submitted with a separate covering letter that includes the following details:
- Complete Name of the Writer(s)
- Position/Year of Study (for each author, if appropriate)
- Institutional Relationships (if applicable)
- Author/co-author contact information Title of the Papers
- Semester + Session + Class
- An assertion of uniqueness
- If the author fails to include a plagiarism report with a similarity index of less than 10% with their submission, it will be rejected outright.
- The research paper’s body cannot contain any pertinent identifying information about the authors, including their name, contact information, or institutional affiliation, if any.
- Book reviews, brief remarks, and lengthy articles are all acceptable forms of submission. The acceptable word limit should not exceed: –

Article Length: 4000-5000 words
Notes briefly: 3000–4000 words
Legislative and Case Comments: 1500–3000 - Please take note that the word restrictions shown above do not include footnotes.
- The word counts will all be carefully adhered to.
- Each contribution must include an abstract that is no longer than 250 words. The word limit will not apply to the abstract.
- The abstract in the paper and up to six keywords must be supplied with the submission.
- A submission can have up to two authors co-authoring it.
- Should authors submit several submissions for evaluation, only the initial submission will be examined for potential publication.
- Authors should send their original, unpublished submission in.doc format to purcl.slj@gmail.com.

Formatting and Citation Guidelines
- An appropriate Title must be mentioned in the cover page of the submission. The Title should be font type- Times New Roman and font size-16.
- The submission should not contain any biographical information of the author throughout the manuscript.
- The body of the text must be submitted in font type- Times New Roman, font size- 12.
- The footnotes must be font type- Time New Roman, font size 10.
- The Line Spacing of the main text and footnotes must be 1.5 and 1 respectively.
- Use of Headings and Subheadings is encouraged throughout the text-
- Title of Paper-Capital, Bold, Font Size-16, Times New Roman
- Headings: Centre Aligned, Bold, and Font Size- 14, Font Type- Times New Roman, with Roman Numbering.
- Subheadings: Justified Alignment, Bold, Font Size – 12 and Font Type- Times New Roman.
- Foot notes and citations of research work are to be given as per the format of Indian Law Institute available at www.ili.ac.in, in single space.
- All submissions are subject to peer review and modification as per the journal style sheet.
- The final decision of the Editorial Board, regarding publication of the article shall be final.
