The Journal on Corporate Law & Governance, or “JCLG,” is proof of unbeatable research, provocative concepts, and noteworthy intellectual and academic standards. It provides a venue for critical investigation into how current corporate law issues interact from the viewpoints of academia and business. The Journal is included in major legal databases SCC Online, Manupatra, and HeinOnline and undergoes peer review. Its ISSN serial publication number is 0976-0369. In addition to examining the different issues and obstacles that impact the corporate world, the Journal makes an effort to look at and provide practical answers that could aid in the formulation of regulations and policy.
Eligibility Criteria
Academicians, professionals in the field, and law students pursuing their LL.B. (Hons.)/LL.B./LL.M. at any accredited university are encouraged to submit their work to the Journal.
Theme
Participants in the Summit are invited to consider a broad variety of matters pertaining to corporate and commercial law, as well as to contribute a varied viewpoint to the topic. The entries have to exhibit high academic standards, comprehensive research, and be current and pertinent. It is also suggested for authors to use a variety of approaches and base their work on the examination of previous rulings, legal sources and documents, or empirical evidence. Submission Guidelines
Note that the following requirements must be met by the submissions:
- The Journal may receive contributions from the author(s) in the form of Case Analysis, Notes, Articles, and Comments.
- The topic and body of work must be briefly summarised and explained in the title; An abstract (250–300 words) that succinctly explains the concept underlying the contribution, its organisation, and the author’s conclusion or conclusions is required;
- Up to a 10% similarity score is accepted by the journal; any higher score would be categorically refused.
- Articles may be longer than 4,500 words, and notes, comments, and case analyses may be between 3,000 and 4,500 words, including footnotes.
- There can be a maximum of two authors per submission.
- The work must be typed in Garamond font with a size of 12 and 1.15 line spacing, justified, and with one inch margins on all sides on A4 paper. Footnotes must have a single line spacing, in Garamond font size 10, and font style 10.
- The Bluebook (20th edition) Uniform System of Citation must be followed by the authors. Kindly consult the Bluebook (20th edition) guidance available here.
- The absence of any author identity in the manuscript will result in the submission being rejected. In the cover letter for the submission, authors should include their address, designation, institutional affiliation, and contact information.
- The writers’ original work must be submitted. Plagiarism in any form will result in immediate rejection.
- As footnotes, the pertinent sources should be properly cited. The Editorial Board’s choice in this matter is final.
How To Submit
- The electronic version of the paper in either.doc or.docx format should be provided by the authors to journal.governance@gmail.com with the subject line “Submission- [Name of Author] -Paper Presentation 2024.”
- The format for the document name is “[Name of Author(s)] – [Title of submission].”
- A covering letter with the authors’ contact information, title, institutional affiliation, and address must be attached to the email.
Deadline
The deadline for receipt of submissions is August 18, 2024.
Awards
- The winner(s) shall receive a cash prize of INR 25,000; internship opportunities with IndusLaw and SCC-Online; along with certificate(s) of merit.
- The first runner(s)-up shall receive a cash prize of INR 15,000; an internship with IndusLaw; along with certificate(s) of merit.
- The second runner(s)-up shall receive a cash prize of INR 10,000 along with certificate(s) of merit.
- The top six entries will be published in the upcoming volume of the Journal (Vol. VII, Issue 2).
- The top 15 entries shall receive a certificate of merit from the organizers.
- All the entries shall receive a certificate of participation.
